the average temperature was 56.9 degrees, 2.4 degrees above normal. Precipitation
averaged 0.95 inches, equal to normal precipitation. Topsoil moisture supply
was rated 5% short, 79% adequate, and 16% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was
rated 4% very short, 17% short, 65% adequate, and 14% surplus. Corn
planted reached 11%, compared to the 5-year average of 10%. Corn emerged
reached 1%. Soybeans
planted reached 11%, compared to the 5-year average of 6%. Soybeans emerged
reached 1%. Winter
wheat headed reached 11%, compared to the 5-year average of 5%. Winter wheat
condition was 1% very poor, 3% poor, 13% fair, 67% good, and 16% excellent.
