The Clay County Genealogical Society Library will host a Come & Go/Make & Take Scrapbook Card Party on Saturday from 9:00 am until supplies are gone.  The cost will be $20 per crafter, snacks will be provided.  Please register by Wednesday.

The deadline is also fast approaching for the CCGS Summer Classes.  The deadline is May 1st and the first class will be on Saturday, May 18th for a cemetery walk.

The Clay County Genealogical Society is also hosting award winning storyteller Dr. Michael Locket at the Flora Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room on Thursday, May 9th at 6:30 pm.

Dr Lockett is the author of 18 books and has presented over 4,000 programs in 32 states.  Dr. Lockett will be telling strange but true civil war stories.  He will be dressed in a military uniform and bring a variety of uniforms and artifacts from the civil war.  He uses the artifacts to tell his stories about weapons, critical decisions, leaders from both the north and south, and a McLean County Colonel who became a General, then a Colonel, and then a General again.

Admission will be $5 per person with Clay County Genealogical Society Library Members getting in for free.
