46-year-old Wendi Owen, of Grayville, was sentenced earlier this week for her role in assisting Justin Bray escape from the White County Jail, in Carmi, in mid-June.

Owen pled guilty Wednesday to class-four felony charges of Aggravated Assault, Aiding a Fugitive and Aggravated Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police. The Court then sentenced her to

2- years in prison on the offenses, which will have to be served consecutive to a previously imposed sentence of 7- years. In total, Owen will have to serve ten years behind bars.Owen drew the 7- year sentence last month on an unrelated conviction of being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Weapon, after she was found to be in possession of a Taser.

Owen's sentence on Wednesday was for her role in aiding Justin Bray in his escape from the jail by providing him transportation. Bray was captured and Owen was arrested following a police pursuit south of Grayville just hours after the escape.
