CISNE REUNION STARTS TOMORROW

Its just about here! The 2018 Cisne Reunion, with a theme of, Theres No Place Like Home, begins tomorrow in and around the village square in downtown Cisne and then continues through Saturday.

Each year, past classes of Cisne High School are honored and members are encouraged to attend. Its really what the Cisne Reunion is all about. This year, the class of 1968, is celebrating 50years since graduating North Wayne Schools. The class of 1993 is also being honored this year as it celebrates 25 years since graduating from Cisne High School.

Throughout the reunion attendees can enjoy the live music, childrens activities including free inflatables, specialty foods and craft and flea market vendors. Theres also a 50/50 raffle, a pie contest and a cutest baby contest.

Activities begin tomorrow evening at the bandstand on the square with Opening Ceremonies starting at 6:30pm. Attendees will then enjoy live music from the teen sister duo of Rachel and Riley Peyton performing as The Peyton Sisters. The southern Illinois sisters perform their up-tempo Christian Praise music around the Midwest and following the CisneReunion, theyre slated to perform for the fourth time at Gaither Fall Fest in Alexandria, IN in mid-September. Sharing the stage with the young ladies is the Southern Gospel quartet, The Dixie Melody Boys. The nationally known group hails from Kinston, NC and includes Fairfield, IL native Josh Garner as lead singer. The group has a 50-plus-year history of singing southern gospel music at the national level and has captured several awards at the National Quartet Convention including Favorite Male Quartet and Favorite Bass Singer in the legendary Ed ONeal who has entertained audiences since 1961. Again, tomorrow nights performances begin at 7:00pm.

On Thursday night at 7:00pm, its the Annual Miss and Little Miss Cisne Reunion Pageant and Tiny Tot Pageant. Upon the completion of the pageants Bingo takes over the reunion grounds from 7:00-9:00pm.

On Friday from 6:00-10:00pm the schedule lists Music and Fun. Theres Bingo from 7:00-9:00pm. On the stage at 7:00pm the Jason Lee McKinney Band performs . The group now calls Nashville, TN home, but is originally from Evansville, IN. On their Facebook page, the Jason Lee McKinney band claims to beAmericana / Sanctified, Chicken Fried, Roots Revived / With an American Soul. The groups latest effort, Sacred Southern Soul, includes a song that hit the national Adult Contemporary charts, called, Tail Fin of a Rocket Ship.

The Cisne Reunion kicks into high gear on Saturday with registration for the 1 Mile Fun Run and 6th Annual Cisne Reunion 5K Run/Walk from 6:00-7:00am.

7:00-10:00am Community Center Breakfast (sponsored by the Cisne Community Center Board).

7:30am 1 Mile Fun Fun.

8:00am 5K Run/Walk.

8:00-10:00am Set up for the Tractor Show-Cisne Middle School (Trailer parking behind school).

9:00am-Noon Registration for Clay County Cruisers Car Show and Judging in front of CMS.

1:00pm Car Show Awards.

10:00-11:00am Blue Point Free Will Baptist Church kids games (life-size Kerplunk, Bean Bag Monster Toss, Dunking Booth, Penny Pitch, Corn Hole, Flying Washers and more.

10:00am-Noon Kids Day Activities on the Square and FFA Petting Zoo.

Noon Pedal Tractor Pull (southwest corner of the Square).

1:00pm Pie Contest Judging (pie auction immediately follows)

2:30pm Cisne Reunion Parade (line-up at Cisne High School no later than 2:00pm

5:00pm The Stranded performs on stage (local musicians from Flora).

7:00pm The Cornfield Mafia performs (Indiana band playing Grassroots, Country, Americana).

5:00-9:00pm Bingo
