Fayette County authorities have confirmed that the trial for a Fayette County murder case has been delayed.

24-year-old Alexander Beccue, of St. Peter, is facing two counts of First Degree Murder in the shooting death last August of Joshua Smith, of Ramsey. Beccue also faces counts of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.

Beccue was originally scheduled to go on trial on August 20th, but officials are still continuing to gather evidence in the case. The Fayette County Circuit Court, in Vandalia, on Tuesday agreed to continue the jury trial to January 14th, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for October 2nd.

Beccue remains in custody under $1 million bond.
