WABASH BUILDS IN SALEM 5/6/24 Wabash
Communications started construction on a new $1.1-million office/warehouse
facility on West Whitaker Street between South College and South Broadway in
Salem. Salem
Plant Supervisor Kurtis Gould says the facility will take the place of the
current downtown office and replace rented warehouse space elsewhere. The
building will total 11,808 square feet and is being built midway between the
block long parcel of property that was the former location of Brown Shoe
Company. Wabash had earlier purchased the land from the city as part of an
agreement to build the new facility. Ground
work began last week. Gould is hopeful the building can be completed by
December. The
Salem office will serve the Marion, Jefferson and Clinton County area while the
main office in Clay County will serve the Clay and Wayne County areas.
