RTE. 50 CRASH

Illinois State Police and Clay County Emergency personnel were called out to a 2-vehicle wreck on US Rte. 50 and Indian Ridge Road, east of Flora at about 8 pm last night.

 

Preliminary information indicates a 2011 Black Toyota Camry driven by a 49-year-old male from Flora was traveling south on Indian Ridge Road at US 50.  The other vehicle a 2006 Silver Chrysler Van driven by a 76-year-old male from Noble was traveling east on US 50.  The Flora driver failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the roadway and was struck by the Chrysler Van on the passenger side.  The driver of the Toyota Camry and a passenger in the van were flown from the scene to a regional hospital with injuries.  The Driver of the van was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries.

 

The driver of the Toyota was cited for Driving Under the Influence, Disobeying a Stop Sign and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
