EASTERN ILLINOIS FOODBANK COMING

5/3/24

The Eastern Illinois Foodbank will be in Clay County Monday, May 13th to distribute food to area families facing food insecurity.  The Foodmobile is traveling throughout East Central Illinois during the month of May.  Those attending are asked to bring boxes or bags to transport food.

On Monday, May 13th the Foodmobile will be at the Band Stand on Front Street in Xenia from 9 to 9:30 am.  Then the Foodmobile will then move to Flora’s Rotary Park from 10 to 11am.  The Foodmobile then moves to Clay City and will set up at the lot at 500 South Main from 11:30 to Noon.  Finally, the Foodmobile will move to the Louisville Baseball Field where they will be distributing food from 1 until 1:45 pm.

Those planning to attend should pre-register at www.EIFclient.com, although doing so does not guarantee a place in line.  There are some income guidelines.

The distribution is part of the Foodbank’s Foodmobile Program, a system of mobile food pantries designed to help bring nutritious food to rural or underserved areas.
