EASTERN ILLINOIS FOODBANK COMING 5/3/24 The
Eastern Illinois Foodbank will be in Clay County Monday, May 13th to
distribute food to area families facing food insecurity. The Foodmobile is
traveling throughout East Central Illinois during the month of May. Those
attending are asked to bring boxes or bags to transport food. On
Monday, May 13th the Foodmobile will be at the Band Stand on Front
Street in Xenia from 9 to 9:30 am. Then the Foodmobile will then move to
Flora’s Rotary Park from 10 to 11am. The Foodmobile then moves to Clay
City and will set up at the lot at 500 South Main from 11:30 to Noon.
Finally, the Foodmobile will move to the Louisville Baseball Field where they
will be distributing food from 1 until 1:45 pm. Those
planning to attend should pre-register at www.EIFclient.com, although doing so
does not guarantee a place in line. There are some income guidelines. The
distribution is part of the Foodbank’s Foodmobile Program, a system of mobile
food pantries designed to help bring nutritious food to rural or underserved
areas.
